Dumpster Rental FAQ

Delivery, pickup, the 10-day rental, and disposal up to the weight allowance for that size. No fuel surcharge, no mileage charge for the far end of the service area, no environmental fee added at the end. The two things that can change the number are extra days and going over the weight, and both are discussed before delivery.

Ten days, on every size. That's longer than the industry-standard week, and it's deliberate: most jobs run longer than people plan for. If you need it beyond that, extra days run about $10 on the 10 and 15 yard, $12 on the 20, $15 on the 30, and $20 on the 40.

Every size includes one: 2 tons on the 10 yard, 4 on the 15, 5 on the 20, 7 on the 30, and 9 on the 40. Over that runs about $60 a ton, agreed on the booking call rather than discovered on an invoice. Heavy material such as concrete, brick, and shingles is the usual reason a load runs over, and the fix is a smaller dumpster, not a bigger one.

For us, mostly the paperwork and the rhythm, not the equipment. The same five roll-off sizes go to a driveway or a job site. Residential jobs are usually one dumpster, one flat rate, one pickup. Nearly. Household junk, furniture, remodel debris, shingles, brush, concrete, carpet, mattresses, and refrigerant-free appliances are all fine. Dirt is the common one we can't take, because the landfill refuses soil; clean fill dirt can come to our Delta yard instead. Hazardous waste, wet paint, tires, batteries, electronics, and pressurized cylinders are out. The full lists are worth a look before you load.

Not for a dumpster on your own driveway or property, which covers nearly every rental we do. A permit only applies if the dumpster has to sit on a public street, and the rules vary by town. Ask the local office before you plan on street placement.

Describe the job on the phone and we'll name a dumpster. Volume is the obvious factor and weight is the one that catches people out, so heavy debris goes in a smaller container than the yardage suggests.
